How much do i need to start a Coat business?

Need some extra cash? Or maybe you are thinking of starting your own business but are unsure what to do or how much capital you would need?

Here at The Overcoat Importer, we have the perfect solution for you! By buying a bale of coats from us, you can start your very own business from as little as R 1790! For example, you could buy a 20kg bale of adult anoraks for only R1790 or a 25kg bale for R1990. This means that you can start your own successful business by investing less than R2000!

Each of our bales is packed with high quality gently worn, AAA grade coats that have been imported directly from Europe. All our coats are very stylish, warm, and highly sought after, especially during the colder winter months.

So, how does the Coat business actually work and how do I know if I will be successful?

Well, all you need to do in order to start your business is to visit us at one of our stores in Gauteng. We have stores in Springs, Kempton Park and Benoni which are all very close to the main transport routes, we also have parking if you arrive by car.

In our stores, you will be greeted by one of our friendly salespeople who can help you to buy the perfect bale of coats. After that, you are ready to go and your new business has started!

Many of our customers sell their jackets to people they know. For example, neighbors, friends, family, and people they know in the community.

When you think about the cost price of each jacket, you will understand that your mark-up can be good and you can still have a selling price that is still very attractive for your buyers.

Once you have sold all your jackets, you can take the money you made back with your new profit and you will then be ready to buy your next bale of jackets or coats and do the process again. There is a need for winter coats in SA and if you find a market you can sell coats to, you will soon be making that extra cash you wanted.

All you need to know about how to wear an Anorak

With the colder months now upon us, you have no doubt begun to wonder if your winter wardrobe has enough clothing to keep you warm. One of the most effective fashion items for keeping people warm, while still looking elegant is the anorak jacket. The anorak is also more commonly known locally as a “Zipper”.   Here at The Overcoat Importer, we stock a wide range of great quality men’s and women’s gently worn anoraks that have been imported directly from Europe. We have anoraks in practically all sizes, colours and styles and we will have something that will look good for every member of your family!

So, what is an Anorak?

Well, an anorak is a lined jacket that often has a hood for added warmth to your head. It was originally invented by Eskimos as they continued with their daily activities in the arctic, despite the sub-zero temperatures. Today, the anorak is used widely throughout the world as a popular winter jacket for adults as well as children.   Typically shorter than trench coats or duffle coats, anoraks have the advantage of being very comfortable. They allow you to go about your normal activities without feeling restricted in the arm area.   We can highly recommend an anorak as the perfect winter wardrobe staple, especially if you have to brave cold winter mornings and evenings.   As with all jackets, anoraks come in a variety of colours, from black, brown, navy blue, tan or army green and it’s great to know that an anorak will look great with most outfits. If you are looking for something that will add a pop of colour to those more common winter greys and blacks, you may want to consider one in a bright yellow, red or orange colour! anoraks

How to wear an Anorak?

The anorak is wonderfully versatile and you can incorporate it into any look you are trying to achieve. For example, if you want to wear your anorak to work and are looking for something quite smart, you could wear it as part of a layered type of outfit.   You could also create a fantastic casual outfit by wearing it with your favourite skinny jeans, a printed long-sleeved t-shirt, a colourful scarf and some trendy sneakers to complete the look.   Students love wearing their anoraks with fitted sweatshirts and a comfortable but stylish pair of jeans. This type of outfit effortlessly takes them from the lecture hall, hanging around with friends to a night out on the town (post lockdown).   Finally, before you buy your anorak, make sure that it fits you well. Be sure to leave enough room underneath in case you decide to wear it with a thick sweater on a very cold day. If you keep all this in mind, you will have a great jacket that will last you for many years!   With a massive range to choose from you are more than likely to find an Anorak that just the right fit for you.     Our Store locations:   Overcoats Benoni – 97 Princess Ave Benoni.   Coat Corner Kempton Park – 79 Pretoria Rd, CBD.   Coat Corner Springs – 29 5th Avenue, CBD.

How to wear a ladies’ car coat or ladies half coat?

Looking for a bit of inspiration for your winter wardrobe? A warm jacket or coat is a definite must-have for every winter and it is well worth the investment if you want something that will last for more than a year or two!   At Coat Corner, we stock a wide range of warm coats for the whole family, including the highly sought-after car coat (or half coat). All our gently worn coats and jackets are imported from Europe and are AAA grade, meaning they are both stylish and of excellent quality. Because we purchase our jackets in bulk, we benefit from rock bottom prices and we naturally pass this discount onto you, our valued customer!   If you are interested in buying a car coat, this is a great choice because this type of jacket is highly versatile and looks great on most body types. A car coat has the advantage of giving you some much-needed extra warmth on those cold winter days as they are slightly longer than short jackets, ending in the mid-thigh area. ladies car coat Most ladies half coats have convenient pockets on the sides, making them useful for when you need to carry small items with you. Unlike duffle coats or anoraks, ladies’ car coats can be made out of any fabric and can be either lightweight or heavier if that’s what you prefer.   They also come in a variety of colours and we recommend choosing a colour that you know will suit what you already have in your winter wardrobe. Neutral colours (like dark or light browns, blacks, navy blues, or tans) are therefore an excellent idea as you can really mix and match them beautifully.

How to wear them

A car coat looks great when worn with a midi skirt, lightweight sweater or top, stockings, and a pair of knee-length boots in a complimentary colour. This is a great look for work or when you need to go to an event where you have to dress smartly.   For a more casual look, your ladies’ car coat is also a good option. Many of our Coat Corner customers enjoy wearing their ladies’ half coats with a pair of skinny jeans and a stylish jersey or sweatshirt.   Boots also look good when paired with a car coat and skinny jeans and this is a great look for the weekend or a casual, outdoor event when you need some extra warmth but still want to look elegant and chic.   ladies car coat

How to size your car coat!

In terms of sizing, we recommend selecting a car coat that you know will be able to accommodate a thicker, woolen jersey for those very cold days. Do not buy one that is too loose as this could make you look sloppy.   Finally, ladies’ car coats are great fun if you enjoy accessorising your outfits!   A car coat will always look amazing when you wear it with a matching pair of gloves, a scarf, and a hat. Matching accessories have the advantage of bringing the whole look of your outfit together while keeping you warm at the same time!

What is a Duffle coat and how to wear one?

Looking for a warm coat to wear this winter? Look no further than Coat Corner as we stock many different types of gently worn jackets and coats for the entire family!   Duffle coats are incredibly popular in both men’s and women’s fashion. This kind of coat gets its name from the material (duffle) from which it is made. Duffle is a strong, thick, and coarse woolen material that provides a lot of warmth.   Duffle coats are also easily recognisable by their trademark buttons, patch pockets, and fastening toggles that make them highly sought-after garments for the winter months. Traditionally used as standard issue garment is the military and royal navy these types have coats have now become fashion items.   When it comes to a winter coat, you want something that will look good on you, as well as keeping you warm. Coat Corner can highly recommend a duffle coat for a stylish, yet comfortable look and feel. duffle coat The duffle coat is considered to be a staple winter item and can transform an otherwise dull or ordinary-looking outfit into an amazingly stylish outfit. Besides, it can be worn in both an informal and a formal style and looks great when worn during the weekend or at a formal event.   Selecting the right size for your duffle coat is a little tricky because if it doesn’t fit properly, it can ruin the look you are going for. A well-fitting duffle coat can make you look smart and elegant, while an ill-fitting and loose one can cause you to look silly and oversized.   At Coat Corner, we have a team of friendly and professional sales people who can give you some great advice on how to select the correct size duffle coat for your body size and shape.   If you want your duffle coat to keep you as warm as possible this winter, it should fit you snugly, but not too tightly. Remember that during the winter months, you will more than likely be wearing one or two layers underneath your coat, so we recommend wearing a jersey or sweatshirt when fitting on your duffle coat. This will ensure that the coat fits properly with what you normally wear in the winter. duffle coat With your duffle coat on, the shoulder seams should align perfectly with where your shoulders end. There should not be too much space between your body and the coat as the coat will then not provide you with enough warmth.   As with all coats or jackets, color matters when buying a duffle coat. To ensure that your duffle coat will be worn for several years, it is best to choose one in a neutral color, like a dark brown, tan, navy blue, or black color. These colors are timeless and have the added advantage of matching most of what you will already have in your winter wardrobe.   Finally, duffle coats can be dressed up or down with some stylish accessories, such as scarves, gloves, or hats. You can match the color of your accessories to what you are wearing underneath the coat for a well-put-together look.

What is a Parka and how to wear one

Looking for an amazingly warm jacket for the winter?

Here at Coat Corner, we sell a wide range of high-quality gently worn jackets and coats. When it comes to winter jackets we can highly recommend a parka for the colder months, especially if you plan on spending some time outdoors in the early mornings and evenings commuting to and from work or attending outdoor events.   Technically speaking, a parka is one of the warmest types of jackets you can buy. Unlike an anorak or shorter jacket, it is slightly longer and normally covers the top portions of your legs. Some are lined with down feathers and this insulation makes them incredibly warm so that you remain cosy, even in the coldest of temperatures.

How to choose a Parka?

When picking out a parka jacket at Coat Corner, it is important to get the sizing right. It is always a good idea to try one on before buying it to ensure that you are happy with the fit. If you are unsure about the best size for you or your family, speak to one of the friendly sales people who would be happy to help you!   A well-fitting parka should be snug around the shoulders and the main part of the jacket should lightly hug the rest of your body. When shopping for one, we recommend wearing a jersey or sweatshirt as this is what you will be likely to wear under your parka in the winter.   Take your time when choosing the perfect fitting parka because if it is too tight, you will compress the jacket’s insulation and it won’t offer as much warmth as it should. parka jacket On the other hand, the parka should not be too loose as this will result in too much dead space and not enough insulation. Take a look in the mirror: your parka should not only look good on you when wearing one or two layers, but it should also feel comfortable so that you can go about your normal activities.   Parkas are the ultimate winter coat and you can take advantage of this cosy winter look by either dressing it up or down. Most parkas have hoods that are lined with fake fur which are also very functional and can be used to keep your head and neck warm whenever you need it.   In terms of the colour parka you choose, stick to neutral colours, such as navy blue, black, brown, or tan. In this way, you can be sure that your parka will go with most of what you already own in your winter wardrobe.   For added warmth and style, they look amazing when paired with a matching colour scarf, hat, and gloves.   Military Style parkas are also a sought after item that you will fond in our stores.   Have a look at our website if these interest you! www.overcoat.co.za
